History
 
Open sms started out as a simple school project and was launched August 2004 by then on a free host after doing a little more research a newer release of the source code of the then purely sms website was launched into open sms in January 2005.
 
 
After only 2 months in Cyber space open sms was receiving a record 1000+ hits per day from individuals who had found use to the fast, free sms not to mention the bulk solution.

KOpen Solutions as is now branded has embarked on a mission to fill the gap in the ICT4D (ICT for Development) by providing cheap solutions to various individuals and organisations as a way of enhancing their day to day businesses and activities, in-turn leading to the Development of our Country.

Open sms currently gets a record 5000 hits a day with 150 being unique. These statistics are the driving force for the team.
 
The team is made up of Open Source Software enthusiasts who will at any opportunity implement an open source project at any Location.
 
Qn: Why free OR Cheap Solutions
An:  All software used in the development of KOpen is freely available on the Internet from the Linux Box running the Apache webserver, to the scripting launguage used PHP basically, the databse in use MySQL none of these costs a penny on the internet so it would not be fair to charge highly for our solutions.
